DALE CITY, VA DAYCARE & EARLY EDUCATION
Our Merit School of Prince William facilities have a home-like feel, with warm and welcoming classrooms that are rich in learning and play materials.  We are proud to be accredited by Cognia, the gold standard for early childhood education programs, offering Preschool, Full Day Kindergarten through 5th-grade programs. Students enjoy developmentally appropriate subjects, field trips, hot meals, and an enriched environment to learn and socialize. With a computer lab and music room, we incorporate STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math) into activities and help children discover self-reliance and independence. Outside, we feature gardens, playgrounds, sports courts and a covered pavilion for fun, child-friendly learning.  Our primary classrooms as well as our before and after school enrichment programs are housed in suites with designated rooms for learning and for fun. The computer lab, Music and Spanish classroom and multi-purpose room support specialty classes that augment our students’ core learning.
Our campus is a green oasis just off of Spriggs Road. Its natural setting with tree-shaded playgrounds, gardens and plantings, sports court, playing field, trike path and covered pavilion provides a child-friendly landscape for learning and fun.
A word about Private Kindergarten at Merit School of Prince William
Choosing the right Kindergarten environment for your child will set the stage for a lifetime of success. Our Kindergarten program provides a positive and enriching atmosphere where a child’s self-image is enhanced, independence is encouraged, and academic goals are met.
Our goal is to prepare children academically and socially for a smooth transition into First Grade. Reading and Writing incorporates phonics, reading comprehension, writing skills, and daily interactive lessons. The literacy-based program introduces students to quality literature by providing daily opportunities to read a variety of text including poetry, books and level readers. We provide opportunities to strengthen writing skills throughout the day while designing and planning projects and journaling individual thoughts.
A Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) curriculum Incorporates teaching methods that respect children’s natural learning process. Children are challenged to problem-solve and think creatively.
