My name is Nikia Johnson and I am so excited to be part of the Merit School Family!
I am a native Virginian, born and raised in Alexandria. I have an Associate of Arts degree in Early Childhood Development from Northern Virginia Community College and have been working in early childhood education for over 24 years.
I am married to a wonderful man and we will be celebrating our two-year anniversary this year! We have a precious two-year old Jack Russell Terrier named Rocky. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with family, especially my two nephews, playing kickball, and playing flag football.
I come from a family of educators which is where my passion for early childhood education began. There are so many things that I love about working with children and I take great pride in knowing that each day is an opportunity to nurture a child’s curiosity and inquisitiveness. I am excited to start my journey and I am committed to providing an enriching environment to nurture the child’s growth and development. My favorite part of the day is welcoming all children and families each morning as well as participating in classroom activities like circle time. I look forward to building great relationships with Merit School of Cloverdale families
